Is BHRT Pellet Therapy Right for Me?
Based on your health history and symptoms, a specific panel of lab tests will be ordered by Dr. Kenessey and reviewed to determine if you are a candidate for BHRT. A consultation will be scheduled, during which Dr. Kenessey will review your labs with you, educate you about pellet therapy and thyroid function, and create a custom treatment plan based on your unique needs. You will have the option at the end of the consult to have the pellets inserted that same day—adding only a few extra minutes to your visit.
How Are Pellets Inserted?
Pellets are inserted into the fatty tissue of the buttocks through a tiny skin incision. In most cases, it is essentially painless using local anesthesia and is a quick in-office procedure.
What Should I Expect After Pellet Insertion?
The Biote Method of pellet therapy provides outstanding results with minimal side effects. Pellets dissolve slowly, and the body absorbs the hormones over time, leaving nothing behind. Some patients report feeling improvement in as little as four weeks, but full optimization can take up to six months.
What Are the Post-Insertion Activity Restrictions?
After the pellet-insertion process is complete, it’s best to eliminate lower body exercise for a short time. Walking is fine, but more strenuous exercise is not recommended. Showers are permitted, but bathtubs, hot tubs, and swimming should be avoided. These restrictions last three days for women and seven days for men. After the bandage is removed, you can resume regular exercise and swimming routines.
How Long Will Pellets Last?
Pellets provide a slow, steady release of bioidentical hormones based on cardiac output. They typically last 3-4 months in women and 4-6 months in men, depending on weight, absorption rates, stress, and physical activity level. Those who work out frequently may prefer to get their pellets sooner than those who are less active.
To continue feeling your best, it is important to maintain optimal hormone levels. You can discontinue at any time or choose to continue pellet therapy for as long as you are physically able to do so. It is never too late to start regardless of age or gender.
Don’t let fatigue, insomnia, weight gain, sexual dysfunction, brain fog, joint pain, and other aging and hormone imbalance symptoms negatively impact your quality of life. Make your appointment today to get your hormone level checked.
